Construction Skills Program

At Sunny Boys, our Construction Skills Program offers participants a comprehensive introduction to the building trades through hands-on experience in a professional workshop environment.   Focusing on timber framing, joinery, and general maintenance, students learn the intricacies of structural assembly while gaining confidence and practical problem-solving skills. The program is specifically designed to provide a supportive transition from education to employment, fostering a sense of achievement through tangible project outcomes.   Participants get to use a wide range of manual and power tools, learning how to interpret plans, measure with precision, and manage site resources efficiently. Every module emphasizes teamwork and clear communication, ensuring that essential soft skills are developed alongside technical craftsmanship. We aim to build independence and a strong work ethic that translates directly into the local workforce.   As a registered NDIS provider on the Sunshine Coast, Sunny Boys facilitates learning journeys that align with School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES). We focus on creating viable employment pathways and enhancing community participation through real-world vocational training.   Safety remains our primary priority. All construction activities are conducted under expert supervision with rigorous adherence to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards. By teaching risk assessment and correct tool handling from day one, we ensure a secure environment where every participant can safely build their future.
